Ishita Chaudhry is an Ashoka Fellow, INK Fellow and Founder and Managing Trustee of The YP Foundation, a youth organization that since 2002 has supported over 450,000 young people across India to develop leadership skills to advance the rights of young women, girls and other marginalized youth. Ishita worked as Executive Director at TYPF for 14 years, transitioning leadership successfully in 2016. An independent consultant and musician by training, she is an advisor to the Global Fund for Women. She has worked as an Advisory Member with the Department of Education, Government of Delhi and the High Level Task Force for Population and Development (ICPD) at the United Nations. Ishita is a Founding Member of the transnational alliance RESURJ (Realizing Sexual and Reproductive Justice) and The Torchlight Collective, a global consulting social enterprise. She works with UN agencies, governments, civil society organizations and youth groups developing policy and programmes at local, national, regional and global levels to advance young people’s access to health, education and good governance.
